euro trip no.2: cologne, germany
after only 4 days in the netherlands we went snow-ballin' in germany on the weekend! sobrang excited!! haha!!
köln = koeln = cologne it's quite confusing because these words are interchangeable when you see a map or a sign post. kaya salamats google!
here's what we did to get there:
- we went to schipol ticketing station and made ticket reservations (you need to make reservations for confirmed seats)
- bought the tickets and then checked the itinerary
- Amsterdam-Utretch-Koln was the main travel stops from Utretch we transferred trains to Koln (the ICE train) - it was vice-versa when we went back to Amsterdam, night ride - so sleepy.
we got off at Koeln station in germany and immidiately looked for the starbucks coffee shop nearby, what for? of course for our starbucks city mug collections! when we got there i was surprised that they are selling all the other starbucks city mugs in germany!! well lucky me i don't have to go to munich, hamburg or frankfurt just to get those mugs!! madaya i know but nasa germany naman kame kaya medyo valid na yun! hehe!!
next stop was just outside the train station. the grandousnessshish cologne cathedral! man it was really breath-taking, as in sa sobrang lake at ganda ng church na yun sa labas palang nag yelo na mga saliva namin!! and more nung pumasok kame sa loob, as in sobrang taas ng kisame and sobrang ganda talaga! parang scene sa huncback of notredam or dun kay nelo nung bago sya mamatay. grabe talaga. on more thing was inakyat namin yung tower and it was a GRUELING, Psycho-fight, Freezing climb sa spiral 509 steps!!! i thought aatakihin na ako ng high blood sa sobrang hirap at taas, pero it was worth it naman when you get to the top, sobrang ganda ng panoramic view ng koel, germany. going down was kahirap-hirap din, parang walang katapusan ang pagbaba namin sa spirals!! whew!
after the church ay nagikot-ikot lang kame sa paligid at sa mga shops na sarado dahil linggo at nag ubos lang ng oras hanggang oras na ng train namin. nun ko lang naexperience ang mga kakaibang bagay sa buhay ko, snow, super cathedral, germans, the cold, the german McDo! and the trains. - sabog 'tong post na 'to haha!!
